Who Can Apply?
Anatolia Culturel Center is awarding a scholarship to help students reach their biggest goals.

An Applicant Must Be:

high school senior or College student

Be a college-bound high school senior, or an ESL student, or a college/graduate student attending the United States accredited educational institution in Southern California.

permanent resident

Be a permanent resident, or an eligible non-citizen.

Eligibility Requirements

Academic Merit

◆ A cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher in the U.S. for current college students.
◆ An entering freshman graduating from high school with a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher in the U.S.
◆ An international entering freshman accepted to an accredited college, graduate program, or an educational institution in the U.S.

Adherence to Hizmet Movement Principles

Anatolia Cultural Center is an organization inspired by the “Hizmet Movement” a faith-based social movement focused on using community service to target the elimination of poverty, ignorance, and conflicts. A fundamental value of the Hizmet Movement is community service by devoting time and energy to supporting the community.

An applicant must demonstrate that he or she is an active volunteer of the Hizmet Movement participating in extracurricular activities, including and not limited to mentoring younger students and organizing “Hizmet Movement” related events.

How to Apply?

What You Need to Submit to Complete Your Online Application

  1. Resume
  2. Most recent Official Transcript or acceptance letter to an accredited educational institution in the U.S
  3. Proof of identification (driver’s license, passport, or national ID card)
  4. Two personal references (one should be from local Turkish-American Anatolia community member) with names, phone numbers and email adresses
  5. An essay summarizing student’s opinions on Anatolia Cultural Center values as well as any personal information that would be helpful for the committee to decide on the eligibility of the student for a scholarship
  6. Tax return papers for students whose families or themselves have been in the US for more than one year. For newcomers with a presence in the US of less than one year, please provide any official document or a personal letter that demonstrates the need for financial aid.

Timeline

We provide opportunities to succeed

Anatolia Cultural Center’s financial aid committee will review the application packages carefully and may ask for an interview with an applicant if the committee deems it necessary. The results will be announced within the month of August.
